The cost of Engineering Design and Construction Administration & Inspection Services will be paid for with City of Waterloo local capital improvement plan (CIP) funds.
The Iowa DOT was a recipient of federal funding through the Competitive Highway Bridge Program grant. As a part of this grant, the City of Waterloo received funds to pay for the cost of construction of the new Park Avenue and 11th Street bridges. The grant funds must be used for highway bridge replacement or rehabilitation projects on public roads that leverage efficiencies associated with “bundling” at least two highway bridge projects into one construction contract.
